Tyson Barker
Director and Fellow

Tyson Barker is program director and fellow at the Aspen Institute Germany responsable for the Institute’s digital and cyber program. Barker comes to Aspen from the Brandenburg Institute for Society and Security (BIGS). Prior to that, he served as Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department in Washington, D.C. from 2014 to 2015. Prior to joining State, he worked for 6 years at the Bertelsmann Foundation, most recently as the Director for Trans-Atlantic Relations. Barker has a Bachelors degree from Columbia University and a Masters from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University.
